Compete and win!

I was told the other day that it isn't right to tell others what grade you make in class. I was told that doing so will only lead to bad things.

Really? My lab partner and I in anatomy and physiology used to compare grades and strive for higher ones. We would openly wag war on each other for the better garde when exams were coming up. And when the gardes were posted, she and I would compare notes and answers and correct each other on our mistakes. I not only discovered my own problems, I helped her discover hers and vice versa. Standing toe to toe in the "Battle for Better Grades" helped both of us and in the end, we both came out on top.

So it is really hard for me to see the bad in sharing grades. If you teach, isn't it a good sign when two students compete for the better grade? I can't help but to think so.
